March 2010 Astro Tidbits

By wisdom | March 16, 2010

In the world chart, love and war are pitted: aggression and patience vie (Mars stations direct in Leo, but trines Venus and sextiles Saturn), as do peace versus revolution (New Moon conjuncts Uranus; Sun at 0 Aries [world point] trines Mars; Mercury and Venus are in Aries too; but Saturn retrograde onto 0 Libra [world point too] andVenus sextile Neptune). It would be easy to be hot-headed and unleash war, especially in the third week, but patient progress and diplomacy prevail.  By the end of the first week, positive business news (Sun/Mercury conjunct Jupiter) offsets people’s anxieties about the general weakness that has been felt throughout the world.  Furthermore, a continuing kindness and awakening is being promulgated through the global internet, bringing much inspiration (Neptune in Aquarius semi-sextile Uranus).  The entire world feels tension and obstacles regarding money (Venus square Pluto) which is causing pain and forcing fiscal restraint  (Saturn opposite Venus), but sane heads prevail, step up, and say wait (Saturn retro over 0 Libra)!  Try to make love, not war.

In our nation’s chart, early March favors job actions, the surge in Afghanistan, and our accomplishments by the end of the Winter Olympics (progressed Moon semi-sextile progressed Mars).  By mid-month there are positive patterns that favor growth and opportunity as the media reports good news about diplomatic talks and the stock markets (Jupiter trine Sun/progressed Jupiter in H7).  Perhaps there is some easing of credit or help for the financial industries (Uranus trine Fortuna/progressed Node in H8); and fresh healing takes place on the home front
, e.g., in real estate (Venus in H4; progressed Venus onto Chiron in Aries there too).  March 10th exposes a great deal of anger in the populace – no doubt the Tea Party Movement (Mars station direct trine IC) – but it is held in check, almost as though we are modeling correct (mature) dissent (Saturn Rx conjunct Sibley MC).  However, anxieties remain for the duration of Obama’s administration (Neptune conjunct US Moon; progressed Mercury quinqunx Neptune), and we are wary of his misguided idealism, especially in speeches regarding foreign affairs.  Like a weird karmic tie from the past (Atlantis?), Obama’s tenure in office can’t help but cause disruption to the nation (his South Node conjunct US Moon; his Uranus opposing).

President Obama starts the month speaking boldly about jobs creation (Mars stations direct conjunct Mercury in H6, opposite Jupiter exact).  Sensible planning leads the way (Saturn retrograde sextiles Mercury).  But even so, his ratings continue to drop by mid-month and his unpopularity hurts (Saturn quinqunx Venus).  Insistence on false idealism is seen as weakness or incompetency (Neptune conjunct South Node, square MC).  The last week of March is crucial: he is given a hidden break through technology and allies (Uranus sextile progressed Jupiter; Jupiter sextile progressed MC and conjunct Solar Arc Jupiter in H1) and manages his task well (Saturn sextile Jupiter) but he faces a tremendous emotional crisis in which others are trying to manipulate his message and role, blocking him while his enemies’ power becomes crushing (progressed Moon opposite Pluto in H7).  This drama lasts through May.  The last days of March offer him his best chance to find the money for, and rectify the budget mess, he has created (Venus in H2 conjuncts Fortuna, and trines Node / progressed Uranus / progressed Venus).  Let’s hope he takes the opportunity!
